Are you a business operating in Dorridge, Knowle, Bentley Heath, Solihull or Shirley?
Do you want to support your local community?
Would you like some free publicity?
If the answer to those questions is yes then please consider donating a raffle prize for the Sing! Bentley Heath Grand Raffle which is held every year at our Spring Sing! concert. Your prize can be goods or services (e.g. a family rail ticket, a hair cut, meal for two, £10 of goods in your store etc.) and in return, we will promote your business with mentions on our website, concert programme and social media.
All the money raised from our raffle goes to our nominated good causesfor the year (last year, the raffle raised £1,000).
If you would like to donate a prize, please contact us using this form and one of our team will contact you.
The choir have been working hard to get ready for our annual fund raising concert – Spring Sing! 2015. Our big challenge this year has been learning to sing with a live band rather than just a piano or backing tracks. “The band is slightly larger than we had planned for originally but they sound really good together and more importantly they add a different feel to the music and complement the choir” said Bob Manekshaw, choir chairman.
Spring Sing! 2015 Rehearsal with the band at Dorridge Methodist Church
Once again, Standley & Co solicitors in Knowle are kindly sponsoring the concert which is meeting the cost of our staging and catering. This year’s venue, Christ Church URC in Solihull, offers the choir a much bigger and open space so there should be plenty of room for the choir and the audience this year.
Just as a little teaser, this recording (apologies for the sound quality) was made at a rehearsal this year and will give you a taste of the wide range of songs that the choir will be singing. If you haven’t done so already – buy your tickets for Spring Sing! 2015 before they all go!
Do you tickle the ivories and would you like to be involved with a friendly community choir? SING! BENTLEY HEATH is a thriving group of singers who need an experienced pianist to accompany them on Thursday evenings 7.45 to 9.15pm and for occasional concerts in the Solihull area.
Musical Director Jane Perrins says, “We have a lot of fun in the choir and although I’m a pianist too, I need to concentrate on conducting rather than hopping up and down from the piano. If anyone in the Knowle and Dorridge area can help us, we’d be so grateful. We’re a friendly crowd and this might suit either a talented teenager who’s doing an Arts Award, or a retired musician or any experienced pianist who loves making music!”
