Although not a Christmas song, ‘Crossing the Water’ was a popular choice by the MSG crew as the words seem to resonate with us all. Our shanty man, Bob, was introduced to the song a few weeks ago so the race was on to learn a new watery song in time for December. We were kindly supported in our endeavour by the U3A Uke group who joined us at the ‘Drum and Monkey‘ at Hockley Heath to make the recording.

‘Crossing the Water’ was written by Bill Staines, an American folk musician and is an anthemic song of hope. We hope you enjoy our version and spare us the price of a coffee, wine or beer (use the donation buttons below) which will go towards our choir’s supported charities: Parkinsons UK and SoLO.
