On the repertoire for our March 2013 concert will be “Somebody To Love” by Queen. Written by the legendary Freddie Mercury – and according to Roger Taylor, inspired by Aretha Franklin – the record was released in 1976.

“Somebody To Love” got to number 2 in the British chart and since then it’s become a classic, covered by artists ranging from George Michael to Anne Hathaway.

When Queen recorded the track, the band’s voices were multi-tracked to make them sound like a 100 piece choir, with a gospel feel in contrast to the more operatic vibe of “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

We won’t have any multi-tracking at our concert though – every voice you’ll hear is 100% live and raw!! We hope Freddie would approve……
