Spring Sing! – Love and Friendship Concert a Great Success
Its hard to believe that it was nearly a month ago when we were having our final rehearsals for Spring Sing!, setting up the stage and performing our third charity concert. There were lots of nerves and tensions as we had a new venue, a live band replacing backing tracks and a more complex sound system to deal with. The months of planning and preparation however paid off as we went into our first number – Sh-Boom!

We sang to a full house of just over 300 people and it’s thanks to their generosity that Sing! Bentley Heath were able to raise over £2,500 through the ticket sales and tombola. The money raised will be shared between Acorns Childrens’ Hospice and the MND Association who both had representatives at the concert. We also had the Deputy Mayor, Joe Tildesley, in attendance who kindly came back stage and spoke to us.
Of course without sponsors, donations and flexibility from our partners, we would not have been able to look or sound so good. We would therefore like to thank the following people:
- Stanley & Co Solicitors for sponsoring the event.
- Oxboffice.com for the online ticket sales and management
- Paul James Promotions for the Staging
- Matt at Digital Arts for printing the banner
The catering team, were on hand at the interval to serve up hundreds of drinks while making sure everyone had cakes to eat. Meanwhile other choir members were busy in front of house welcoming the audience, assisting them to seats and selling raffle tickets.
Spring Sing! 2016 – Film and Theatre will be our next charity concert around the same time next year (date to be announced soon) but if you can’t wait that long, we will be performing at St. Pauls in Birmingham and Temple Balsall in June (see our concert calendar for more details).
